The Chai & Tea Stall Kiosk is a compact hot-beverage counter built for corporate campuses, metro concourses, and high-street positions — designed for chai franchise brands scaling across cities and entrepreneurs formalizing India's single largest beverage habit.

The opportunity is structural: chai is consumed several times a day by hundreds of millions of Indians, yet most of it is still sold from informal stalls with no brand, no hygiene story, and no repeatability. Modern chai brands have proven that a clean, branded counter commands a 3–5× price premium over the roadside cutting. This kiosk is the physical machine behind that premium — a compact brew station with visible hygiene, warm brand fascia, and a serving flow tuned for the morning rush, manufactured at our Mumbai facility in 10–12 working days and installed overnight.

Zoning

  • Brew station: Multi-burner chai range with kettle bays and a masala/ingredient rail within one arm's reach — the layout follows the brewing sequence, not the other way around
  • Serve counter: Kulhad/cup dispensing point with snack display case beside it — rusk, bun-maska, and samosa attach naturally to every chai order
  • Transaction point: POS shelf with UPI QR stand at the pickup ledge, keeping payment out of the brewing line
  • Wash & storage: Concealed wash point and under-counter dry storage for tea, milk crates, and consumables

Rush-hour logic

Chai peaks are brutal — 8–10 am and 4–6 pm carry most of the day's volume. The counter is engineered for a two-person parallel flow at peak (one brewing, one serving and billing) that collapses to single-person operation off-peak.

Build specification

  • Structure: Powder-coated MS frame with heat-tolerant detailing around the burner bay
  • Cladding: Warm terracotta and wood-tone premium HPL — the palette chai customers instinctively trust
  • Counters: Stainless steel brew-side worktop with solid-surface customer ledge
  • Burner bay: SS 304-lined range housing with heat shielding and ventilation gaps engineered in
  • Display: Glass snack display case with warm internal lighting
  • Signage: Backlit fascia band with routed brand lettering
  • Lighting: Warm-white ambient wash with bright task lighting over the brew line

Every structural and finish component is fabricated in-house — metal frame, carpentry, laminate pressing, and signage — which is how we hold both the timeline and the quality tolerances.

  • Electrical: 2–3 kW single-phase for lighting, display, and refrigeration; commercial gas or induction brew line per site rules
  • Gas safety: Where LPG is permitted, cylinder housing is ventilated, isolated from customer zones, and built to commercial gas-safety norms; all-electric induction variant available for gas-restricted sites
  • Water: Fresh water inlet with concealed fresh + waste tanks where a site tie-in is unavailable
  • Food safety: FSSAI-compliant food-contact surfaces, covered snack display, washable finishes
  • Fire: Fire-retardant laminates, heat shielding at the burner bay, and compliant wiring
  • Site approval: Drawing and specification set prepared for campus facility teams, metro licensing partners, or municipal permissions as applicable
  • Brew formats: Traditional multi-burner range, induction line for gas-restricted sites, or automated chai-machine bay for high-volume corporate installs
  • Serving styles: Kulhad-forward heritage presentation or paper-cup speed format
  • Finish themes: Terracotta heritage (standard), modern minimal, or full franchise brand system
  • Menu add-ons: Snack warmer, sandwich griller bay, filter-coffee module for South-Indian menus
  • Franchise pack: Locked drawing set + BOQ for identical multi-city replication

Why this works

India's highest-frequency purchase. Chai is bought two to four times a day by the same customer — no other retail category delivers that repeat rate. A fixed, branded counter on a commute path or campus converts that frequency into predictable daily revenue.

The premium is in the format. The product costs nearly the same as the roadside stall's; the branded, hygienic counter is what earns the 3–5× price difference. The kiosk is not a cost — it is the margin engine.

Lowest entry ticket in F&B. At ₹1.5–3 lakh, this is the most accessible food-format in our range, with utilities modest enough for almost any site.

Built for multiplication. Chai brands grow by density — many small counters, not one big café. A locked specification manufactured repeatedly at our facility keeps every outlet identical and every capex predictable.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a chai kiosk cost in India?
The Chai & Tea Stall Kiosk sits in the ₹1.5–3 lakh band depending on size, brew format, and finishes. Site rentals and licenses are separate.

Can it run without a gas connection?
Yes — an all-electric induction brew line is available for corporate campuses, metro stations, and malls where LPG is restricted.

What utilities does it need?
2–3 kW single-phase power and a water inlet; concealed fresh and waste tanks cover sites without plumbing tie-ins.

How fast can it be deployed?
10–12 working days of manufacturing and one 4–6 hour installation — most operators are serving within two weeks of sign-off.

Is it FSSAI ready?
Yes — food-safe surfaces, covered display, and washable finishes; the documentation supports your license application.

Can you build multiple units for a franchise rollout?
Yes — repeat manufacturing to a locked specification is the core use case, one unit or twenty.
